Economic disaster and Presidential hopes

I am overwhelmed by the current state of the U.S. economy, like everybody else. Another Great Depression may be in the offing! Unbelievable, huh? I watched the debate last night, am a Barack Obama supporter and I thought it went well. I can only hope that November brings a change for the better to our nation. As for everyday life, I'm in my own "economic depression, like so many of us today. My credit crunch is not on the scale of the country, but it's bad enough for me! That's it for me for now.

Great Days in the U.S.A.

I am thrilled to be alive to see the first Black candidate for President of the U.S. I was in despair in 1968, when it seemed to me as a 16 year old that things would never change or improve for minority citizens. That Barack Obama accepted his nomination on the 45th anniversary of Dr. King's "I have a dream" speech seems to me truly wonderful and hopeful. I can only that great things will follow!

Random blathering

Hello - this is a first attempt at a blog, so if anyone actually reads it, be gentle in any critiques, please.  I am the mom of an adult son who is lead singer in a DIY punk band, have adopted his 2 kitties - one of the best things I've ever done, btw - and I'm a Case Manager, employed full-time, for a small non-profit agency working with the homeless. And - I like my job but I LOVE weekends - no work!!!
