Great Days in the U.S.A.

I am thrilled to be alive to see the first Black candidate for President of the U.S. I was in despair in 1968, when it seemed to me as a 16 year old that things would never change or improve for minority citizens. That Barack Obama accepted his nomination on the 45th anniversary of Dr. King's "I have a dream" speech seems to me truly wonderful and hopeful. I can only that great things will follow!

Random blathering

Hello - this is a first attempt at a blog, so if anyone actually reads it, be gentle in any critiques, please.  I am the mom of an adult son who is lead singer in a DIY punk band, have adopted his 2 kitties - one of the best things I've ever done, btw - and I'm a Case Manager, employed full-time, for a small non-profit agency working with the homeless. And - I like my job but I LOVE weekends - no work!!!
